Can Iris detect whether PWM is being used or not?

I consider buying Iris for my laptop (Samsung Notebook 9 2018 model). This laptop has what it calls "outdoor mode" which increases the screen brightness above 500 nits. To use Iris brightness control, should I enable this mode? I wonder if Iris can detect the presence of PWM in either mode so that I can decide myself.

Iris will help regardless of the mode you use but maybe it will be more efficient and remove more of the flicker if you use it at the absolute max brightness
